Deception Valley Lodge is a high standard lodge located on the edge of the Game Reserve, in a remote and peaceful spot. The lodge and its surroundings offer guests a completely different experience, in an arid Kalahari bush land stretching for miles.
The main complex boasts a dining room, lounge and bar area decorated in warm Kalahari colours making use of Bushmen and other African artefacts. From the deck you can view activities at the nearby water hole. A curio shop and small library forms part of the complex. The lodge has an ethnic African theme and was built to fit into the surrounding bush without altering, damaging or detracting from its ambience and colour.
A swimming pool is situated close to the main complex. The boma features prominently during the African nights when guests enjoy their dinner while gazing across a clear night sky.
6 of the 8 chalets consist of luxury twin bedded [cont.]
rooms with en-suite Victorian style bathroom, an outside shower and a private spacious lounge. There is also a chalet with 2 inter-leading rooms for families. Each unit stands separately, on stilts connected to the main lodge by wooden walkways.
A particular highlight at Deception Valley Lodge are guided walks with the Bushmen to explore their culture, survival and hunting skills as well as tap their extraordinary knowledge of the veldt and animal life.
